I’m implementing my first POPS (Pattern, Order of Operations and Problem Solving) this week, inspired by Andrew Stadel. Document is here. I’m going to give it to students on Monday, and it is due Friday (students get nightly homework in math class at our school, so they’ll get two assignments Monday and none on Thursday). Nervous thinking about how I will assess it and make the expectations clear to students. Maybe show a model POPS on Friday, and give them a few minutes to revise their work if they want to?
