I don’t know if there’s anything to learn from these, but last night’s homework’s first question was to draw a graph that is not a function. They’ve done this before, and it’s fun to see what they draw. Are there valid inferences about student undestanding that can be drawn from this question? Or is it just a fun question to help cement a concept? (Also, note that lots more kids wrote their names in cursive, but I didn’t want to publish their full names.)
